Number of Attempts for CDS exam

Number of attempts for CDS exam depends on:

1. Your graduation years (3 year or 4 year)
2. Your age
3. Your birthdate (Sometimes 1 attempt of CDS exam is lost due to birthdate being a few days early)

• If you are doing a 4-year graduation course, you will get a few attempts less as compared to the 3-year graduation course.
• You can give CDS exam in the last year of your graduation. (You can provide provisional degree certificate if you need to join academy before your university result of final year)
• Each and every CDS aspirant gets 3-4 attempts of CDS exam which are more than enough to clear CDS exam

What is the minimum age limit for CDS exam?

The minimum age limit for the CDS exam is 19 Years. But it is not practically possible to give CDS exam at the age of 19 years because you are in 2nd-year of graduation at that time.

So, your first attempt for the CDS exam will be in the last year of Graduation, so it will be somewhere around 20-21 years of age.

What is the Maximum age limit for CDS exam?

Maximum age limit for CDS exam is 25 years, that too for Officer’s Training Academy (Short Service Commission)

Can I give CDS exam after 12th?

No. You can’t give CDS exam. Instead, you can give NDA exam after 12th standard (between the age of 16.5 years to 19.5 years)

In order to be eligible for the CDS exam, you must have done graduation from any field or in the last year of graduation.
