UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam is conducted in 3 stages:

  1. Written Examination (Objective + Descriptive Paper)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Test
  3. Interview/Personality Test

(i) UPSC CAPF Written Exam: The written exam is generally conducted in the month of August which comprises of two papers, i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II (Currently dates are different due to COVID-19 Outbreak)

Paper-I: General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks which is an objective type paper in which the questions will be asked in English as well as Hindi.

Paper-II:  General Studies, Essay and Comprehension – 200 Marks It is a Descriptive Paper comprising of Precis Writing, Comprehension, and other communications/language skills (To be answered in English Only except Essay)

CAPF Educational Qualification

Bachelors Degree from any field (Arts, Science, Commerce, Technical) from any recognized university is must to apply for UPSC CAPF Exam.

Aspirants can give UPSC CAPF in Last Year of their graduation. But after qualifying all stages of exam, you need to submit proof of Passing the Final Examination.

CAPF Age Limit 2021

UPSC CAPF Age Limit: 20-25 Years of Age

But in UPSC CAPF Exam, reservation exists. So, you can get age relaxation based on the category you belong to. Let us see CAPF Age Relaxation for all categories:

Number of Attempts for UPSC CAPF Exam

Many aspirants think that number of attempts for UPSC CAPF Exam is 5. But thats not true. UPSC have not specified any specific number of attempts for UPSC CAPF Exam. Infact, you have unlimited attempts for UPSC CAPF Exam as far as you are within the age limit (starting from 20 Years of age)

Can I give UPSC CAPF Exam after 12th?

Central Armed Police Forces Exam conducted by UPSC recruits Assistant Commandants into different Para-Military Forces like BSF, ITBP, SSB, CISF, CRPF, etc. So, being a Class 1 Post, Bachelor’s Degree is must to be eligible for the Exam.

Various internal exams are conducted by different para-military forces which requires 10+2 as an educational qualification. So, you can focus on those exams if you are not an graduate yet.

Is Central Government Employee Eligible for UPSC CAPF Exam?

Yes. Central Government employees are eligible for UPSC CAPF Exam. Instead, they get 5 Year Relaxation for UPSC CAPF Exam (Means 5 Extra attempts for UPSC CAPF Exam!)

Only case is that they need to submit an undertaking to their office to be applicable for CAPF Exam.
