SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam is “Computer Based Examination” which is conducted in near by exam centers as per your preference given at the time of filling exam form.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam consists of 4 papers, out of which Paper 1 and Paper 2 are compulsory for all posts while:

• Paper 3 (Statistics): Only for candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
• Paper 4 General Studies (Finance and Economics): Only for candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer

1/4th Negative marking for SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam. Let us see marks deducted per 1 wrong answer in paper 1,2, 3 and 4 of Tier 2 Exam:

Negative marking may seem different for each paper as number of marks for each question is different in 4 papers.

Let us begin with the most important part of this article, that is, strategy for Quantitative Aptitude of SSC CGL Exam Tier 2. And believe me guys, its possible to score 190-195 marks in Maths (Quantitative) paper because:

• Pattern and type of Questions is same every year
• Once quality preparation is done as per given strategy, no question will be out of our sources
• Scoring 175-180 is difficult in English section, but thats not the case in Maths paper.

1. We have divided Maths syllabus in Arithmetic, Advanced and Data Interpretation in SSC Tier 1 strategy which makes study tagetted. But we need study some specific topics which yield higher weightage in Tier 2 of SSC CGL Exam.

2. Maths can be mainly divided into 2 types: Arithmetic and Advanced Topics. Ratio of questions asked is 2:3 (Arithmetic:Advanced Topics) So, begin your preparation with advanced topics which includes 4 pillars of Maths paper:

In tier 2 of SSC CGL exam, you have to solve 200 English Questions in 2 hours of time. This will require good hold over the subject and type of questions asked in this paper because:

• Our aim is to score 180 marks, which needs good knowledge as well as rigorous practice (It will be not soo easy)

1. Learning 10 new Synonyms, antonyms, One word substitution, Misspelled words and Idiom and Phrases on daily basis. This will result in 50 new learnings everyday which will result into learning 1500 new things each month (Just make sure you revise things done every morning so that you don’t forget it at the end of month)
2. You must use Plinth to Paramount by Neetu Singh (Volume 1) book for Vocabulary section.
3. For english grammar, study topics like Noun, Pronoun, tenses, use of adjective, adverbs, Active and Passive voice, Direct Indirect speech,etc from Wren and Martin English Grammar Book. (Strictly solve exercises of each topic after study)

4. If you are from hindi medium, then you must have book named “A Mirror of Common Errors” for English Grammar related questions. It contains explanation of each question in Hindi Language in highly simplified manner. (Due to which grasping new concepts become very easy in our mother tongue)

5. Daily Only 1 editorial reading from The Hindu/ Indian Express and solving 5 English passages from Kiran Publication book.

6. Now, majority of your theoretical part is covered. So what is remaining? Rigorous practice from best sources for SSC CGL Tier 2. Best source fro parctice is:

We will focus on Statistics and GS (Finance and Economics) preparation in separate article. Here I will like to tell you 2 things which you must remember:

1. Focus more on Paper 1 and Paper 2. Many aspirant are not able to clear the SSC CGL Tier 2 Cut off just due to paper 3 and paper 4. So, first be master at first 2 papers and then focus on paper 3 and 4.
2. After completing paper 1 and paper study, complete Economics NCERT of 11th and 12th standard before beginning any advanced study. And do most of economics study from Economy page of The Hindu/Indian Express (Understanding economy concepts that come in newspaper on daily basis)
