NDA Cut off 2022 | Written Cut Off, SSB Marks

NDA exam is given after 12th standard and NDA being your first competitive exam, you are new to the term ‘NDA Cut off’. Cut off for NDA is much more than what you are understanding now. There are some easy but really important things regarding Cut off of National Defence Academy whih you must know before giving the actual exam.

If you are in 12th standard or have passed 12th standard, remember that you will just get only 2 serious attempts for NDA exam. And in order to clear the stage 1, that is, Written exam of NDA exam, you need to be aware of the 2 NDA Cut off’s which you need to clear to qualify for SSB interview.

There are 3 types of NDA Cut off marks which you need to clear to clear the written exam:

• NDA Individual Cut off  (for each Subject)
• NDA Overall Cut off (Maths + GAT paper) = Out of 900 Marks
• NDA Merit List (Written + SSB Interview) = Out of 1800 Marks

To clear the individual cut off for NDA written exam, you need to score minimum 25% marks in each subject.

I will like to tell one important thing. UPSC does not specify any specific NDA Individual cut off marks in Notification (advertisement). This NDA individual cut off is declared when Final result of NDA is declared and it may vary.

NDA Individual cut off depends on difficulty level of paper and number of aspirants who applied for exam. Most probably, it will be 25% for each subject in upcoming attempts, but your aim must be to score 35% plus marks because NDA Individual cut off has shown variation over years (20%, 25%, 30 % and even 35%)

After clearing the NDA Cut off for individual Subjects, now you need to beat the competition. That is, you need to clear the overall NDA cut off marks. To understand overall cut off, lets see basic pattern of NDA exam :

NDA Overall Cut off is calculated out of 900 marks (NDA Maths paper of 300 marks and NDA GAT paper of 600 Marks)

Try to score around 45-50% Marks in NDA Overall cut off (written exam) to be on a safer side.

In case of similar defence exams like CDS, cut off for Army, Navy and Air force is diffferent. Even merit list of each academy is different.

But in case of NDA exam, we do not have any different cut off for Army, Navy or Air Force.

But you must remember that vacancies for Indian Air Force (120) and Indian Navy (42) are less as compared to Indian Army. So, you need to score high to get the academy you want.

We will check NDA Cut off mark for last 5 years so that we can analyse NDA cut off 2020, that is, NDA expected cut off for upcoming exams.

NDA Cut off Marks given below are calculated out of 900 Marks (Maths + GAT)

These are all NDA Official cut off Marks released by UPSC after declaration of Final result (So, you can use this data for your reference)

In the above given NDA exam cutoff marks, 2 trends can be seen:

• NDA Cut off has seen rise every year
• NDA 1 (April) cut off is higher than NDA 2 cut off (September)

There are 3 main reasons:

1. Number of aspirants applying for NDA 1 exam is high
2. NDA 1 exam comes just after 12th Boards exam, so preparation of aspirants is good
3. Less NDA aspirants prefer to give NDA 2 attempt, as they have already taken admission for some other degree course

UPSC will conduct NDA exam twice in 2020 (as usual). So, you will get accurate NDA exam cut off 2020 on Sarkaari Service.

NDA 2020 Cut off (expected) will be calculated based on aspirants review, number of aspirants attemted exam and difficulty level of exam.

Clearing SSB Interview is much important than checking the score of SSB Interview. But today we will see NDA SSB Cut off, in simple words, NDA SSB Marks which you must aim to get the academy of your choice.

For analysing and setting our target for NDA SSB Interview, we will analyse SSB Marks of last recommended candidate for NDA 1 2019, NDA 2 2018 and NDA 1 2018 for more clarity.

So, keep a very simple rule. Try to score 50% marks in written exam and 35-40% marks in SSB interview.

We need to score maximum in NDA written exam, because those marks are in our hand. No one knows how much marks he will get in SSB Interview !!
