AFCAT Eligibility Criteria
Before knowing the AFCAT 1 2020 eligibility criteria, let us understand some basics of AFCAT exam.
AFCAT exam is conducted twice a year (In February and September) for recruitment of officers in :

- Flying branch Compulsorily offers = Short Service Commission
- On the other Hand, Ground Duty Branch and Technical Branch offers= Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission (depends on your preference)
Now, we need to see AFCAT eligibility criteria one by one for Flying Branch, Technical branch and Ground Duty Branch.
AFCAT Eligibility for Flying Branch
- Candidate must have scored atleast 60 % Marks in Physics and Maths at 10+2 level.
If the condition 1 is fullfilled, then 2 type of aspirants are eligible for AFCAT flying Branch:
- BE /Btech (which is a 4 year course) done from recognized university with 60% aggregate marks.
- Graduation (with 3 years) done in any discipline from recoognized university with 60% aggregate marks.
Minimum Height requirement for flying branch: 162.5 mm (And corresponding weight as given in table below)
Minimum Vision requirement for Flying branch: 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other
AFCAT Eligibility for Technical Branch
Education-wise AFCAT 1 2020 eligibility:
Four year degree qualification (BE/ BTech) done from recognized university and have cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks
Minimum Height requirement for Technical Branch (Men): 157.5 cm
Minimum Height requirement for Technical Branch (Women):152 cm

AFCAT Eligibility for ground duty can be further divided into 3 categories based on posts.
AFCAT Eligibility for Administration and Logistics Posts
Graduate degree (of minimum 3 years) in any discipline with min 60% marks from any recognized university or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with a min of 60% marks.
AFCAT Eligibility for Accounts Posts
Candidate must have done B.Com (of Minimum 3 years) with min 60% marks
AFCAT Eligibility for Education related Posts
Candidate must have done MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International studies / Defence studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT / Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation from recognized university with minimum 60% marks in Graduation and aggregate 50% marks in Post graduation (if done)
(Post graduation course must be of minimum 2 years period)
AFCAT Eligibility for Metrology posts
If you want to apply for meterology posts following qualification is must. You must be from Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Geography/Computer Applications/Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/Meteorology/Agricultural Meteorology/Ecology & Environment /Geophysics/Environmental Biology with at least 50% of marks in total of all the exams combined altogether (given Maths and Physics were studied at a Graduation Level with a minimum of 55% of marks in both)
Minimum Height requirement for Technical Branch (Men): 157.5 cm
Minimum Height requirement for Technical Branch (Women):152 cm
AFCAT Eligibility Age
AFCAT 2020 eligibility age for Flying Branch: 20-24 years
For example: If you are preparing for AFCAT 1 2020 exam, you must be born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2001.
AFCAT 2020 eligibility age for Ground Duty Branch: 20-26 years
For example: If you are preparing for AFCAT 1 2020 exam, you must be born between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 2001 (both dates inclusive)
AFCAT 2020 eligibility age for Technical Branch: 20-26 years
For example: If you are preparing for AFCAT 1 2020 exam, you must be born between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 2001
AFCAT exam eligibility for Female

Am I eligible to give AFCAT exam in Final year of graduation?
Talking about AFCAT exam eligibility for final year aspirant, you can apply for AFCAT exam if you have 60% aggregate marks till previous semister with no present backlog.
And if you clear the AFCAT written exam and AFSB, then you have to submit provisional certificate at the time of commencement of training.
