AGCAT exam recruits in 3 main branches: Flying Branch, Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non Technical) in which recruitment is done. AFCAT exam gives the option to join Indian Air force via Short Service Commission (SSC) or Permanent Commission (PC) which depends on the post you have applied. So, before beginning the actual age limit for AFCAT exam, lets have a basic overvieew about which branch provides SSC or PC.
AFCAT Age Limit 2020
Toughest Age Limit criteria in AFCAT exam is for Flying Branch which needs aspirant below age of 24 years at the time of joining Indian Air Force Academy (Means 23 years of age at the time of giving the exam!)
On the other hand, AFCAT Age Limit is much relaxed for Ground Duty Technical and Ground Duty Non-Technical. (All posts other than Flying Branch come in this catergory). You need to be below age of 26 years at the time of joining the Indian Air Force Academy (which means 25 years of age when you will give the AFCAT exam!)

AFCAT exam will be conducted twice in year 2020 (February and December). So, we will see AFCAT 1 2020 Age Limit as well as AFCAT 2 2020 Age Limit.

Can I give AFCAT Exam in the Last Year of Graduation?
Yes. It is absolutely possible to give AFCAT exam in last year of graduation provided that you are within the age limit provided above and fulfill all criteria’s of AFCAT Eligibility.
Number of Attempts for AFCAT Exam
‘Number of attempts for AFCAT exam’ is one of the most commonly asked question by defence aspirants. Actually it depends on your type of graduation, passing out year, and latest age limit provided by AFCAT.
On an average, an aspirant gets minimum 5-6 attempts considering that he has graduated at the age of 22 years and gives his first attempt in the last year of graduation.

I want to join Indian Airforce flying branch but basically I have not appeared for +2 exam after my tenth class I have completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 3 years course and after that i have joined in B. E Production Engineering will it be eligible for me for flying branch. Can I appeared for coming year because im on the lastyear of my graduation.
If im eligible then what optional subject should I take for EKT exam ??
